Actress June Brown OBE, best known for playing Dot Cotton in Eastenders, has sadly passed away aged 95.

Brown is also known for her stage work as both a director and performer. She directed Pin Money by Malcolm Needs in London and Double D by Matthew Westwood in Edinburgh and London.

Brown also performed in shows such as An Inspector Calls, The Lion in Winter, A View From The Bridge and more recently in 2009, she played Jessie in the West End production of Calendar Girls at the Noel Coward Theatre alongside Anita Dobson, Jill Halfpenny and Jack Ryder.

Our thoughts are with June’s family and friends at this difficult time.
