Release date for new WEST SIDE STORY film soundtrack revealed

Hollywood Records have announced that the West Side Story 2021 original motion picture soundtrack is to be released on 3 December.

The highly anticipated film remake, directed by Stephen Spielberg, opens in UK cinemas on 10 December and this is also the date when physical copies of the CD can be purchased. However, digital and Dolby Atmos formats will be available from this Friday (3 December).

The film cast, whose vocals can be heard on the soundtrack, include Rachel Zegler, Ansel Elgort, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist and Rita Moreno.

With music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, the soundtrack has been arranged and adapted for the new film by composer David Newman, and features the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras.
