Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre announces full cast and creative team for THE SECRET GARDEN

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has announced full casting for the stage adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic story The Secret Garden, which plays from 15 June - 20 July.

In a new version by Holly Robinson and Anna Himali Howard, and directed by Howard, the cast includes Theo Angel (Self & Other, HOME Manchester) as Colin, Richard Clews (Taming of the Shrew, RSC) as Ben Weatherstaff, George Fletcher (The Beautiful Future Is Coming, Jermyn Street Theatre) as Dr Craven, Amanda Hadingue (Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, Complicite) as Mrs Medlock, Molly Hewitt-Richards (Island Song, 54 Below) as Martha, Jack Humphrey (Animal Farm, NYT) as Archibald Craven, Avita Jay (The Empress, RSC) as Champa, Hannah Khalique-Brown (I know, I know, I know, Southwark Playhouse) as Mary Lennox, Patrick Osborne (Arabian Nights, Bristol Old Vic) as Captain Lennox, Sharan Phull (My Beautiful Laundrette, Curve/Tour) as Lata/The Robin, Archana Ramaswamy (No Dogs, No Indians, Southbank Centre) as Padma, and Brydie Service (Rae in Lessons, Almeida Theatre) as Dickon.

Spoilt and abandoned, 10-year-old Mary Lennox is sent from India to Yorkshire, and put into the care of an uncle she has never met.

At Misselthwaite Manor, a broken-hearted house full of secrets and strange noises, Mary discovers a garden as lost and neglected as she is. If she can learn to make friends with robins, grumpy gardeners, and a boy who speaks to animals, Mary might be able to bring more than just the garden back to life.

The creative team includes movement director Will Dickie, sound designer Tingying Dong, casting director Polly Jerrold, composers Mishra Music (Ford Collier and Kate Griffin), lighting designer Jai Morjaria, costume designer Khadija Raza, and set designer Leslie Travers.
