Theresa Rebeck joins Broadway-bound WORKING GIRL musical as new book writer
It has been announced that award-winning Broadway playwright Theresa Rebeck will join the Broadway-bound musical Working Girl as the production's book writer.
After working on many Broadway plays, Working Girl will mark the first time Rebeck has written the book for a musical.
Rebeck is a writer for stage, film, television, and novels. She is the most Broadway-produced female playwright of our time with four plays produced on Broadway. Her Broadway credits include Bernhardt/Hamlet, Seminar, and Mauritius, along with many other New York productions. Her co-written play, Omnium Gatherum, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2013, and her latest play, Mad House, is currently playing in London's West End.
Rebeck joins Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award winner Cyndi Lauper who will write the production’s music and lyrics, and Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley (Come From Away), who will direct.
Working Girl is based on the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture written by Kevin Wade.
