Ramin Karimloo to star in RUMI: THE MUSICAL alongside co-writer Nadim Naaman

Stage and screen star Ramin Karimloo is set to star in new show, Rumi: The Musical.

The project, which tells the story of the 13th century philosopher and poet Rumi, is co-written by Nadim Naaman and Dana Al Fardan; their second collaboration after their previous show, Broken Wings.

Karimloo will play Shams Tabrizi and writer Naaman will perform as Rumi in the piece, which will be released as a full-length concept album this Spring.

Appearing alongside them will be Casey Al-Shaqsy (as Kimya), Soophia Foroughi (Kara), Sharif Afifi (Sultan Valed), Ahmed Hamad (Aladdin), Irvine Iqbal (Husam) and Alim Jayda (Sayyed); with Roshani Abbey, Amira Al Shanti, Eva-Theresa Chokarian, Maëva Feitelson, Sasha Ghoshal, James Hameed, Blythe Jandoo and Aliza Vakil.

The album has been orchestrated and arranged by Joe Davison, with vocal arrangements by Nikki Davison and Middle Eastern musical supervision by Maias Alyamani; and has been produced, edited and mixed by Joe and Nikki Davison for Auburn Jam Music.
