Rachel John announces release of debut album

West End star Rachel John has announced her debut album, ‘From My Lips to God’s Ear’, will be released on 8 April.

John made her West End debut in Disney’s The Lion King in 2005, and has had a successful West End career ever since, in particular receiving critical acclaim and an Olivier Award nomination for her portrayal of Angelica Schuyler in the original West End cast of Hamilton. Now she has returned to one of her other musical passions, gospel, for this album which will feature nine tracks which she has listened to and sung throughout her life.

The album’s executive producer is renowned West End and Broadway performer Ramin Karimloo, who suggested to John that his company, Mercy Productions, could record a filmed concert at the NTA Church in Tooting in 2021. The event was filmed and recorded for this album. Karimloo is making the six filmed episodes exclusively available every week from 11 March on his Fan.Direct site here.

Lead track, ‘Blessed Assurance’, will be released digitally as a single on 18 March.

We can’t wait to listen to these tracks when the album is released, Besties!
