Production company launched to bring the West End to your doorstep

A new theatre production company has been launched to bring personalised West End performances to the nation’s doorsteps.

Founded by actors and married couple Maria Friedman and Adrian Der Gregorian, and backed by major theatrical producers including Cameron Mackintosh and Nica Burns, Doorstep Productions promise a “song and dance spectacle” in full costume, on streets, driveways and in gardens across the country.

Audiences can choose songs and scenes from shows including Les Miserables, Mary Poppins and The Phantom of the Opera, featuring up to six West End performers. Also over the Christmas period, they will offer a Dickensian carol singing experience.

Friedman said: "Everything seems to be deliverable these days, so why not the West End?

"I felt as though it was so important to get members of my profession up, out and doing what they do best: touching people’s hearts, singing at the top of their voices, dancing, entertaining and making people feel loved and alive, reminding them that they are worthwhile and along the way help them pay a few bills.”

Prices for the performances will be bespoke depending on requirements and the company will make a donation to theatre charities with each payment.
