Producers of the West End production of Moulin Rouge The Musical are flying a performer from the US to the UK to help to cover roles played by members of the UK cast who have tested positive for Covid-19.

The musical was forced to cancel performances over the weekend after it was revealed that there were several cases of Covid within the company, and more performances have been cancelled this week, up to and including 8 December. The show has flown a US performer over to London to join the London company, along with holding additional understudy rehearsals, to ensure the show can resume performances.

This news comes as theatre producers warned that the new isolation rules, meaning that anyone who has come into contact with an omicron case has to isolate even if double jabbed, could cause more performances to be cancelled.

Fingers crossed this doesn’t happen, Besties.
