PM suggests possible route out of pandemic for theatres

In a press conference this evening, Boris Johnson revealed that mass vaccination and lateral flow testing is likely to be the key to theatres and entertainment venues reopening.

The Prime Minister said that live events are the “toughest nuts to crack” but it is thought that this is the route that said businesses will need to go down in order to get back to ‘normal’ operation.

It is not currently known how much a scheme such as this would cost and also who would pay for it.

Boris Johnson is set to outline a roadmap out of lockdown on Monday 22 February but it is currently unknown whether this will refer to the entertainment industry.
