Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera will make its debut at the Sydney Opera House in September 2021.

Presented by Opera Australia, in association with The Really Useful Group, this marks the first time that the musical has played at the iconic venue. This version of the production will feature spectacular new staging and scenic design and will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 65.

Directed by Laurence Connor, the show sees choreography by Scott Ambler, set design by Paul Brown, original costumes by Maria Björnson, lighting by Paule Constable and sound by Mick Potter.

The company will be led by Australian star Josh Piterman, who most recently played the Phantom in the West End production.
