With many of our Christmas shows being cancelled this year, former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan is providing just the tonic with an online pantomime experience.

The veteran panto dame will film a pantomime in his back garden alongside a supporting cast, which will be streamed online for families to enjoy from 4 December.

Duncan said: "It is a national tragedy that pantomimes in theatres across the land have been cancelled this year. Panto is as much a part of Christmas as turkey and all the trimmings, Father Christmas and Carols. We sincerely hope our traditional production of Jack and the Beanstalk will be a great Christmas event for all the family to look forward to watch together and at the same time raise money for six charities."

Appearing alongside Duncan will be Nicola Blackman (The Garden Fairy), Sam Ebeneezer (Jack Trott), Josh Freeman (Wolf Beast), Sarah Moss (Jill Shortshanks), Yuval Shvartsman (Giant Blunderbore), Ian Talbot (Squire Shortshanks), Jos Vantyler (Fleshcreepy), plus an ensemble cast of Charlie Booker, Matthew Dawkins, Daisy English, Bessy Ewa, Ben Westhead and Morgan Wilcox.

Ian Talbot will also direct the piece with musical direction by Colin Cattle, choreography by Julia Redburn, set and props design by Peter Humphrey, sound design by Matthew Case and wardrobe master/costume maker David Morgan.

Tickets are priced at £15 with some of the profits being split between six charities: POhWer, Clothe Me, British Youth Music Theatre, Prost8, Scouts and Best Beginnings.

The pantomime will be presented on a dedicated website called "Panto Online" from 4 December.
