A musical film adaptation of Cyrano is in the works after MGM acquired the rights, according to Deadline.

Four-time Emmy award-winning Games of Thrones star Peter Dinklage will return to the title role, having played Cyrano onstage at the Goodspeed Opera House’s Terris Theatre in Connecticut in 2018, before transferring Off-Broadway the following year. He will be joined by Haley Bennett, also reprising her Connecticut stage performance as Roxanne, with direction by Joe Wright (Darkest Hour, Atonement).

Cyrano has been penned by director, writer and stage actress Erica Schmidt, with music by the National’s Aaron Dessner and Bryce Dessner, and lyrics by Matt Berninger and Carin Besser.
