Performances of JERUSALEM cancelled due to death of star Mark Rylance’s brother

Due to the death of Mark Rylance’s brother, performances of Jerusalem in the West End have been cancelled this weekend (11 & 12 June) to enable the star to attend the funeral in California.

As Rylance does not have an understudy for his role as Johnny ‘Rooster’ Byron, Sonia Friedman Productions and Nimax Theatres have no alternative but to cancel the three performances. However, additional performances are being scheduled at the end of the run to accommodate the affected bookers.

Our thoughts are with Rylance and his family at this difficult time.
