Perfect Pitch to team up with Broadway Licensing to introduce British writers to worldwide audiences

Northampton based musical theatre production company Perfect Pitch have begun an exciting new partnership with global licensing house, Broadway Licensing. It introduces the work of around 20 British writers across the world.

As part of this partnership, seven existing Perfect Pitch titles including 42 Balloons by Jack Godfrey, Lift by Craig Adams and Ian Watson, and The 45th Marvellous Chatterley Village Fete by Susannah Pearse and Rebecca Applin will now be made available across the world thanks to Broadway Licensing.

There are four new musicals that will also be brought in as part of the partnership, all of them are British and will be commissioned, developed, produced and licensed as part of the deal.

Perfect Pitch founders Wendy and Andy Barnes, who are also producers of the musical Six, said: “What is fantastic about this partnership is the wide spectrum of musicals that it reaches and the sheer number of British writers whose musicals it supports. It provides us an opportunity to share across the world many of the musicals we have developed over the years, while giving us access to seed funding for exciting new projects.”

The other titles joining Broadway Licensing’s portfolio are The Lost Christmas by Laurence Mark Wythe, Danni Hero by Wythe and Timothy Knapman, and Dougal Irvine’s futuristic musical In Touch. It’s a fantastic opportunity for British new writing to be shared across the world.

Perfect Pitch are currently also presenting a monthly preview of a new musical over on Broadway Licensing’s sister called Stream.theatre. It is part of a push to bring new work to wider audiences. Each episode of the series, called Rise:Up, will feature a different new musical in its development stages alongside guest appearances and performances from West End stars.
