Payal Mistry will make history tonight by becoming the first woman to play the leading role in Life of Pi.
Understudy Mistry is stepping in for Hiran Abeysekera who usually plays the character of Pi in the show, which recently extended its run at the Wyndham's Theatre.
The West End production recently won five Olivier awards including Best New Play, Best Actor for Abeysekera and Best Supporting Actor for the seven performers portraying the tiger.
