Oxford Playhouse to play host to two exciting voices in British theatre JASMINE LEE JONES AND ELLA HICKSON

Oxford Playhouse will be joined by two of British theatre’s most exciting voices for an In Conversation event on Thursday 4 March at 6pm. The online event is in partnership with TORCH and the Cameron Mackintosh Fund for Contemporary Drama.

Ella Hickson is an award-winning playwright whose work has found audiences both nationally and internationally. Her most recent play, Swive, opened at the Shakespeare’s Globe in 2019. She also wrote Anna and The Writer. Ella is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and teaches Creative Writing at the University of Oxford.

Jasmine Lee-Jones is an actor and award-winning playwright. Her first full-length play, Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner, opened at The Royal Court and won the 2019 Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright, the 2019 Alfred Fagon Award, and the European New Talent Drama Award 2020. She is currently under commission to the Royal Court, Soho Theatre, and Headlong, and is also adapting a major novel into a TV series for the BBC.

In Conversation is part of an ongoing series organised by the Oxford Playhouse in collaboration with TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities) and the Cameron Mackintosh Fund for Contemporary Drama.

TORCH is a place to develop new ideas and collaborations both within and beyond academia. They provide vital opportunities for Oxford’s humanities scholars to collaborate with different people across other disciplines and at all stages of their careers.

The Cameron Mackintosh Fund for Contemporary Drama is used for the promotion of interest in, and the study and practice of, contemporary theatre within Oxford University.

Tickets for In Conversation with Jasmine Lee-Jones and Ella Hickson are £5 and are available from the Oxford Playhouse Ticket Office on 01865 305 305 or online here.
