OVERLOOKED concerts to play in Wolverhampton next month

A pair of concerts of new and ‘overlooked’ musical theatre songs have been announced at the Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton on 8 October.

Featuring a mix of West End singers returning to their roots, as well as experienced local talent, they will perform their favourite ‘overlooked’ songs from popular, as well as less well-known musicals.

Overlooked will also showcase songs by event musical director/composer, Ian Stephenson, in support of an Off-Broadway staged reading of one of his four musicals currently in development.

“Fired!”, a new musical written with Texan librettist Eric C Jones, has been in development through Off-Broadway producer and dramaturg, Cate Cammarata, for over six years and now has a staged reading in New York in May. All profits from the concerts will fund the week-long workshop and performances.

The concerts will feature: Chris Allen, Jaii Andrew, Chris Buckle, Tasheka Coe, Aiden Cutler, (WEBF’s very own!) James Edge, Theo Jackson, Lucy Lacey, Lauren Lockley, Sam Robinson, Liam Sargeant, Laura Stanford, Lydia Rae Stephenson, George Stuart, Cameron Sharp, and Jake Sharp.

The concerts will be compered by stand-up comedian and poet, Tom Allsopp.
