Orange Tree Theatre announce full casting for JMK Award winner Diane Page’s STATEMENTS AFTER AN ARREST UNDER THE IMMORALITY ACT

Statements cast

The Orange Tree Theatre have today announced full casting for Athol Fugard’s Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act, running at the venue from 28 August-2 October.

JMK Award Winner Diane Page directs the piece, which stars Scarlett Brookes as Frieda, Richard Sutton as Detective Sergeant du Preez and Shaq Taylor as Errol.

Page has been given the opportunity to direct this full-scale production which forms part of the Orange Tree’s Recovery Season, with the production values and nurturing guidance the building is famous for.

The show will also be livestreamed via OT on Screen on 23 and 24 September.

Frieda and Errol meet in darkness. Theirs is a love story that can never thrive in the light. A relationship interrupted, by white supremacist law. And then at the end as at the beginning, they will find you again. Guilty. A play about then that speaks to now.

The production is designed by Niall McKeever, with lighting by Rajiv Pattani, and sound and composition by Esther Kehinde Ajayi.
