Ogunquit Playhouse adds BEAUTIFUL to 90th Anniversary Season

Maine's Ogunquit Playhouse have announced their regional premiere of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical as part of the 2022 season, running from 15 September to 30 October.

The show features a book by Douglas McGrath and music and lyrics by Gerry Goffin & Carole King and Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil. Additional creative team and casting will be announced at a later date.

Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history, and features some of her most beloved songs.

Ogunquit Playhouse's season will also include upcoming productions such as The Nutty Professor and Mr. Holland's Opus. The Playhouse Arts Academy will be showing Disney's Moana Jr, Disney's Descendants: The Musical, and Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach.
