It has been announced that Nottingham Playhouse’s production of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story has been filmed for cinematic release. 

Adapted by Mark Gatiss and directed by Adam Penford, the production was filmed at Alexandra Palace last year and is set to be released in cinemas across the UK on 27 November and 1 December, with audiences able to see Gatiss as Jacob Marley in his own retelling of the winter ghost story, with Nicholas Farrell starring as Ebenezer Scrooge. 

Mark Gatiss said: “As the year turns again, it’s a real joy to be bring A Christmas Carol to a whole new audience. I fulfilled a lifelong ambition in bringing the show to the stage, at the wonderful Nottingham Playhouse and the extraordinary Ally Pally.
