Nimax Theatres to reopen its West End theatres on 17 May

Palace Theatre

Chief Executive of Nimax Theatres, Nica Burns, has announced plans to reopen all six of its West End theatres with social distancing on 17 May, pending government guidance.

The company owns the Apollo, Duchess, Lyric, Vaudeville, Palace and Garrick theatres, which prior to lockdown hosted productions including Six the Musical, Death Drop and Everybody's Talking About Jamie.

Once a reopening plan has been finalised (expected later this week), full details will be announced to the public.

Burns remains sceptical about the proposed June date when social distancing is to be lifted but states that she “can’t wait” to get her theatres open again.
