New Vic summer season to include co-productions of JANE EYRE and TOM, DICK & HARRY

The New Vic have announced their summer season and continued celebrations for their 60th anniversary of theatre making today.

Coming to the New Vic stage will be a new adaptation of classic novel Jane Eyre, which will run from 4 -28 May. It is a co-production between the New Vic and Stephen Joseph Theatre, and will feature a cast of actor-musicians who will play multiple roles and a host of 19th century pop hits. 

Following this will be the much anticipated production of Tom, Dick & Harry, a co-production with Kenny Wax Ltd. Co-written by theatre favourite Andrew Pollard and Michael Hugo, along with New Vic Artistic Director Theresa Heskins, the play is based on the true story behind the escape from Stalag Luft III in World War II. 

Currently in rehearsals and kicking off the season will be Marvellous, directed by Artistic Director Heskins which will run from 11 March-9 April, and tells the story of an extraordinary life; full of football stars, comedians, bishops and circus acts in an uplifting and life-affirming account of realising your dreams. 

Following this with a short run will be Same Time, Next Year by Bernard Slade, which runs from 12-16 April. This will be followed by Happy Jack written and directed by John Godber from 21 – 30 April, before the aforementioned Jane Eyre

Eric’s Monster Mash will play from 22 August-3 September and tells the story of Eric and Bev, Bev dreams of an all inclusive week somewhere sunny but Eric has other ideas, a week away in a grand mansion…in Transylvania! 

With another family called Addams booked in at the same time, Erics Monster Mash features everyone’s favourite characters and sensational ‘60s tunes.

The summer season will also feature one night only events such as Alistair McGowan : The Piano Show, Faulty Towers : The Dining Experience and Ballet Cymru presents DREAM amongst many other fabulous productions.
