New support programme for playwrights in Devon & Cornwall announced

A new year-long support programme has been announced for playwrights in Devon and Cornwall, including eight digital and audio commissions.

The Write Up! 2021 programme by South West theatre company Down Stage Write has been made possible by funding from Arts Council England. It will give opportunities to writers such as masterclasses and development for rehearsed readings. They will also issue four digital and four audio commissions, offer a script surgery and three writing residencies.

A programme for young people in Devon and Cornwall is also being launched, along with a project in collaboration with LGBTQ+ writers leading up to Pride 2021.
