New season announced at The Alexandra in Birmingham

 An exciting line-up of drama, musical theatre and comedy is on its way to The Alexandra in Birmingham.

There is plenty for musical fans with the spectacular Bat Out of Hell, the sensational Chicago, the smash hit Bring it On as well as Footloose and Dreamboats and Petticoats: Bringing on Back The Good Times. Looking further ahead into 2022, the theatre hosts the brand-new musical Fisherman’s Friends, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific, The Osmonds: A New Musical and the dazzling Dreamgirls sets down for Christmas 2022.

There is a monthly fix of thrilling plays for any drama enthusiasts, with Peter James’ Looking Good Dead, Fatal Attraction starring Kym Marsh and Oliver Farnworth and psychological thriller Catch Me If You Can. Based on the classic board game, Cluedo makes its UK premiere, and the theatre’s spring drama season concludes with epic stage thriller, The Da Vinci Code.

Comedy comes in the form of Fat Friends the Musical and Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em starring Joe Pasquale.

For toddlers to teens, there is a selection of family friendly productions on offer with The Addams Family, School of Rock, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and Dragons and Mythical Beasts.

This festive season over the next few weeks sees the return of the much-loved Birmingham favourite, Jersey Boys as they work their way back to the city for a four-week run.
