New Outdoor Festival announced featuring Edinburgh Fringe Shows
We’re all going to miss this summer’s festival season. However this August, The New Normal Festival will feature a range of work that was originally scheduled for the Edinburgh Fringe. Taking place in South London, the organisers hope it will be ‘a celebration of theatre, music, improvisation, magic, comedy and so much more.’
Located in Wandsworth, The Royal Victoria Patriotic Building is a Grade II listed property. Le Gothique Bar & Restaurant sits at its heart and it’s walled courtyard will be transformed into the festival’s venue. The restaurant will continue to be open during the event, with a range of summer cocktails and a BBQ menu available for guests.
Comedy will be provided by Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation, and more. Shakespeare fans can enjoy As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew, Two Gentlemen of Verona and A Midsummer Night's Dream. And if you like musicals, there's Funny Gals and I Wish My Life Was Like A Musical.
In compliance with government guidelines, all of these shows will take place outside with social distancing in place. There will be no on-the-door ticket sales and audience members are asked to wear face masks. Temperature checks will be used upon arrival and a vigorous cleaning regime will take place between performances.
The New Normal Festival will take place between 3-31 August with tickets starting at £10. These can be purchased through the festival’s official website here.
