New unique musical theatre retreat with West End stars announced

Experiential getaways are more popular than ever, from yoga retreats and detox programs to silent and nature retreats. Now, there’s an exciting new option for musical theatre lovers: Sing Eat Retreat. This innovative holiday combines the thrill of musical theatre training with the luxury of a curated vacation, giving you the chance to live out your West End dreams while enjoying a relaxing getaway.

Hosted in luxurious villas, Sing Eat Retreat offers an immersive experience that includes expert-led singing and performance workshops, culminating in a live performance at the end of the week. Set in the breathtaking surroundings of Tarifa, Spain, each retreat is led by accomplished West End performers, musical directors, and vocal coaches. Over the course of the retreat, attendees benefit from more than 30 hours of focused tuition in small groups (with no more than seven participants), ensuring personalised instruction in vocal technique, acting through song, and performance preparation.

The retreats are centered around iconic musicals, with each week themed around a different West End production such as The Greatest Showman, Mamma Mia, and Les Misérables.

One standout experience, the Sing The Sound of Music & Film Tour retreat, takes you to the enchanting city of Salzburg, Austria. Here, you'll have the extraordinary opportunity to record tracks in a professional studio and bring your own Sound of Music performance to life at the iconic filming locations. This immersive retreat offers a rare chance to step into the world of the beloved classic, blending music and film in a setting that’s as magical as the story itself.

Sing Eat Retreat offers an unparalleled blend of high-quality training and relaxation, designed for musical theatre enthusiasts of all levels. Renowned tutors such as Sam Hillier (Associate Director of Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera), Steve Moss (Musical Director for Mary Poppins UK Tour), and Pippa Duffy (Vocal Coach with acting credits in Only Fools and Horses: The Musical and Associate of The Royal Academy of Music) lead intensive workshops. Guests also have ample opportunity to unwind, with access to a serene pool, local exploration, and gourmet meals crafted by private chefs. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned performer, the retreat promises a comprehensive and rejuvenating musical theatre experience tailored to various skill levels.

Following a successful 2024, Sing Eat Retreat has expanded its 2025 schedule, now offering 14 weeks of exceptional musical theatre retreats. This year's lineup includes special guests like the multi-award-winning actress and singer Janie Dee and acclaimed performer Luke Bayer, each leading exclusive masterclasses.

Janie Dee will host the Sing Sondheim masterclass from 16-23 March 2025, collaborating with esteemed vocal coaches Pippa Duffy and Ben Mann, and musical director Leigh Stanford Thompson (Les Misérables, Miss Saigon). Luke Bayer, celebrated for his roles in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, RENT, and his time as an X-Factor finalist, will lead the Sing Greatest Showman masterclass from 6-12 April 2025.

Following these masterclasses, other dates include Sing Les Mis from 17-24 May in Tarifa, Spain; Sing Mamma Mia from 24-30 May in Tarifa, Spain; Choir & Hiking Week from 8-14 June in Tarifa, Spain; and Sing The Sound of Music & Film Tour from 4-11 October in Salzburg, Austria.
