New immersive production THE GUNPOWDER PLOT to be held at Tower of London

A new immersive production will transport audiences back to the time of Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot in a purpose-built theatre at the Tower of London, it has been announced.

The Gunpowder Plot has been described as a “layered realty experience” and is being developed in collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces, written by Danny Robins and directed by Co-Artistic Director of King’s Head Theatre Hannah Price.

Immersive experts Layered Reality are said to be developing multimedia elements for the production, including virtual reality and projection mapping, plus they will offer “physical sensations” based around temperature, scent, taste, physical movement, touch and sound.

The Gunpowder Plot is set to open in May 2022 in Tower Vaults at the Tower of London, which has not been accessible to the public for the last 20 years.
