Netflix acquires ROALD DAHL STORY COMPANY with plans to produce new stage shows

It was announced yesterday that Netflix have acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company (RDSC), with plans to “create a universe across animated and live action films and TV, publishing, games, immersive experiences, live theatre, consumer products and more”.

Netflix’s current $1 billion deal between the companies covers a slate of animated TV shows, including a series based on the world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, plus they are working with Sony and Working Title on a film adaptation of Matilda The Musical.
