Olivier Award-winner Lyndsey Turner’s acclaimed production of The Crucible will transfer to the West End for a strictly limited run at the Gielgud Theatre from 7 June-2 September.

A witch hunt is beginning in Salem. Raised to be seen but not heard, a group of young women suddenly find their words have a terrible power. As a climate of fear spreads through the community, private vendettas fuel public accusations and soon the truth itself is on trial.

The production has set design by Es Devlin, with costumes by Catherine Fay, lighting by Tim Lutkin; sound content design by Tingying Dong, sound system design by Christopher Shutt, composition and arrangements by Caroline Shaw, music direction and arrangements by Osnat Schmool, and casting by Alastair Coomer CDG and Naomi Downham.

Casting is to be announced.

Director of the National Theatre Rufus Norris said: “I am very pleased to announce the West End transfer of Lyndsey Turner's highly arresting production of The Crucible to the Gielgud Theatre. Audiences were transfixed when this classic was performed in the Olivier theatre last autumn and I can't wait to share it with more theatre-goers.”

Tickets for The Crucible go on sale to the public on 9 March here.
