Musical theatre turned country stars ONE TRICK PONY to release fourth single today

Musical theatre performers Georgia Lennon and Michael Pickering - aka UK country duo One Trick Pony - release their fourth single today, ‘A New Hope’, across all major music platforms.

Lennon is a 2020 musical theatre graduate and upcoming rising star, whilst Pickering is best known for performing in Starlight Express, Wicked and Jersey Boys to name but a few. Pickering penned their new track, which takes the duo to an unheard avenue of their country sound with a heartbreaking narrative and darker subject matter.

The song describes a situation surrounding a person who has remained in an abusive relationship for too long, but has found the strength to leave. The song emotes that moment of fear and indecision felt before the biggest decisions of your life. The narrative still possesses that all-encompassing feeling however, allowing listeners to find their own story within the music. But in true One Trick Pony style, there is always that silver lining, and this one is the light at the end of the tunnel... ‘A New Hope’. 

In light of this subject matter, One Trick Pony have teamed up with Together We Stand UK, who support victims of abuse and harassment within the arts. This track will form their Official Campaign song.

‘A New Hope’ can be purchased for only 99p on iTunes, with all proceeds being donated to Women’s Aid.

A full scale music video featuring West End and Broadway stars will also follow in the coming weeks.
