We have already seen our industry represented on this series of The Voice UK by musical theatre performers Lauren Drew and Matt Croke, and Saturday’s episode saw the next generation shining courtesy of Ella Young.

Young is currently training at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and we remember her fondly from one of the Barn Theatre’s virtual concerts celebrating the work of Finn Anderson, where she performed a duet with Kinky Boots star Matt Henry.

Last night she performed the iconic ‘Defying Gravity’ from Wicked, to try and earn her a place in the knockout stages of the ITV competition. Sadly she did not get a judge’s chair turn but this doesn’t take away the fact that her performance was SUPERB. And the judge’s even admitted after not turning that they had made a mistake. Tut tut!

There is so more to come from this young lady Besties, that’s for sure. Well done Ella!
