MUSICAL CON unveils full weekend schedule
Musical Con 2024 has announced its complete schedule as they return for their third annual event packed with an exciting lineup of performances, panels, and exclusive fan experiences.
The weekend long musical extravaganza will welcome over 10,000 fans, over 100 special guests from the world of musical theatre, and showcase over 100 hours of programming across the two days.
Taking place on 19 & 20 October at ExCeL London, the spectacular weekend will be bringing together musical theatre enthusiasts, performers, and industry professionals for an unforgettable celebration of all things musicals.
Highlights include ‘Show Spotlights’ showcasing unique performances and interviews with the cast and creatives of the West End’s biggest shows including Hadestown, Why Am I So Single, Les Misérables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Hamilton and Cameron Mackintosh's highly anticipated new production of Oliver! and the famous opening and closing ceremonies, which feature performances by a host of stars including Layton Williams (Cabaret/Everybody’s Talking About Jamie).
Other fantastic features across the weekend will include ‘Artist Spotlights’ on current Broadway and West End stars; Todrick Hall (Burlesque, Chicago, Kinky Boots), and this year's Guest of Honour, the Broadway legend and Grammy, Tony and Emmy award winner André De Shields, who is best known for originating the role of Hermes in Hadestown. The spotlight will also shine on new musicals with performances from Fly More Than You Fall featuring Greatest Showman star Keala Settle, [title of show] starring Jacob Fowler (Heathers), and Figaro starring Aimee Atkinson (Pretty Woman).
Fans will have the unique opportunity to engage in interactive fan panels featuring stars from the most beloved shows, including with Mean Girls stars Georgina Castle, Daniel Bravo, Charlie Burn, Ellie Skye and Grace Mouat, and the winners of ITV’s Mamma Mia! I have a Dream: Tobias Turley and Stevie Doc.
Musical theatre enthusiasts will also be able to find out how the magic really happens with demonstrations of puppetry, makeup and costume and set design; learn from their idols as they take part in workshops and masterclasses taught exclusively by West End stars and creatives and meet the stars one on one with once in a lifetime photo and autograph experiences.
There's also plenty of fan-related content, including Cosplay, Lip Sync, Star of Musical Con competitions, Show Off the game show, and fan meets. The expansive Theatreland exhibition has a huge marketplace full of stagey businesses, experiences, and photo opportunities from shows, including Disney's Hercules, Mary Poppins, Matilda The Musical, and Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals.
