Mercury Theatre launches first studio season in refurbished building

Steve Mannix and Tracey Childs, Executive Director and Executive Producer of the Mercury Theatre, have today announced the final part of its first season in the venue’s newly refurbished space, with 12 productions in the new studio.

The Studio season includes the previously announced Mercury Originals, a programme of new plays by local writers with the first production being the world premiere of Kenny Emson’s Sirens. 

The studio season will open on 14 September with My Night with Reg, the award-winning comedy from Turbine Theatre; followed by First Time, written and performed by theatre maker and HIV activist Nathaniel Hall. Other productions included in the season include The Nobodies, NHS Yarns, Power, My White Skoda Octavia, Who Cares, Conspiracy Theory: A Lizard’s Tale, These Hills Are Ours Hundred Watt Club, Mig Kimpton’s Tale of the Golden Goose, Terror in the Old Library and the The Jolly Christmas Postman.
