Idina Menzel & James Marsden join Disney’s ENCHANTED sequel

Enchanted

Enchanted fans rejoice: more familiar faces are set to return for the hotly anticipated sequel! The film’s composer, the legendary Alan Menken, has confirmed that Idina Menzel & James Marsden will return for the sequel, returning to the roles of Nancy Tremaine and Prince Edward, whom those of you have seen the original film will remember, got a special happy ending all of their own.

For the moment, details about the plot are scarce, but the film’s title: Disenchanted perhaps implies darker times ahead for our characters. As previously reported, Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey (who played Giselle and Robert in the original film) have also been confirmed to return.

Menken will reunite with fellow composing royalty Stephen Schwartz to pen the songs – with rumours of more to be included compared to its predecessor, and in an interview has stated that the piece is currently filming. Adam Shankman is in the director’s chair, with writers Richard Lagravenese, Scott Neustadter, and Michael H Weber attached.

A release date for Disenchanted is yet to be confirmed, but with plans for it having been in the works for over a decade, it promises to be worth the wait.
