London’s Menier Chocolate Factory have announced their autumn season today, which will see the theatre reopening in November after being closed for refurbishment..

The world premiere of The Sex Party by Terry Johnson will kick off the season, playing from 4 November 2022-7 January 2023. It follows four couples who gather in a suburban London home for an evening of wine, cheese, and more intimate pleasures.

Following this is Alex Edelman's Just For Us, which runs from 11 January-26 February 2023. It features hilarious anecdotes from Alex Edelman’s life, but also includes the astonishing and frightening story of his decision to covertly attend a gathering of White Nationalists in New York City. The production reunites Edelman with director Adam Brace.

The season concludes with the UK premiere of Marjorie Prime, Jordan Harrison’s 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist play, which explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits - if any - of what technology can replace. It runs from 9 March-6 May, with Dominic Dromgoole directing.

The Menier will also be co-producing work in New York and Japan, with productions of the musicals Merrily We Roll Along and Pacific Overtures. Merrily will play off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop from 21 November 2022-8 January 2023, and will star Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez. Pacific Overtures will run at the Nissay Theatre in Tokyo in spring 2023, with details of a UK transfer to be confirmed.

Tickets for The Sex Party go on sale on 3 October here.
