It has been announced that Trafalgar Entertainment has agreed a 70-year lease on a major new London theatre in Olympia.

As part of a £13 billion regeneration of Olympia as a world-leading cultural destination, Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International have announced the agreement with Trafalgar Entertainment to run the new theatre, which will be the largest new permanent entertainment venue of its kind to open in London since the National Theatre in 1976.

The Olympia Theatre agreement is part of Trafalgar Entertainment’s ambition to create a venue of national stature and hope that it will become an iconic venue for the 21st century, much like its neighbour, the Royal Albert Hall.

Designed by Haworth Tompkins, this new venue has a stunning ‘stacked’ 1,575 seat auditorium, which will bring audiences close to the stage on all levels, as well as featuring increased ventilation throughout the building.

The Olympia Theatre has set sights on a 2025 opening.
