Live theatrical experiment on human intimacy to be streamed online next month

Do You Love Me Yet?

A live theatrical experiment on the topic of human intimacy will premiere online next month from 2-7 November.

Commissioned by Oxford Playhouse, in association with TORCH Oxford and Ferment at Bristol Old Vic, Do You Love Me Yet? is described as a “funny and touching theatrical experience with spontaneity and unpredictability at its heart.”

The performance has been created by former Almeida Resident Director Jocelyn Cox and writer/researcher Samuel E Taylor, with design by Grace Venning.

Each unique showing features two cast members who meet each other for the first time on screen, having had no rehearsal prior to this. They are then prompted to answer questions, complete tasks and are encouraged to tell stories about themselves.

The cast for the performances include: Rudi Dharmalingam (The History Boys (NT)) Lauren Drummond (Holby City); Alex Lawther (The End of the F***ing World); Rehanna MacDonald (Peter Gynt (NT)); Patrick Osborne (Shakespeare in Love (West End)); Rachel Nwokoro (The Stage Debut Performance Award Little Baby Jesus (Orange Tree)); John Pfumonjena (Peter Pan (NT)), Anne Queensbury (Empire of the Sun); E M Williams (My Brilliant Best Friend (NT)) and Angus Wright (Hamlet (West End)).

Programme Director at Oxford Playhouse, Laura Elliott, said: “Oxford Playhouse and TORCH are delighted to have commissioned this online theatre piece. It embodies everything we love and miss most about theatre – authenticity, liveness and connection. In a world where we are currently struggling to stay connected, we hope this show provides an uplifting reminder of the beauty of the human spirit.”

Do You Love Me Yet? will be live streamed to audiences over YouTube. For more information and to book tickets, please click here.
