Little Angel Theatre have announced their plans for bringing the magic of puppetry into people’s homes this Christmas.

The venue’s much-loved adaptation of Tim Hopgood’s Wow! Said the Owl is returning this year in a new, digital way so that families can join in with the fun from their own homes. The production was supposed to be performed live to socially distanced audiences this festive season but with the lockdown and the regularly changing regulations, the venue has decided to move the show online instead. It will be a new interactive version of the show with the performance and guided activities taking place on Zoom.

Little Angel Theatre will also release two digital shorts and one digital advent calendar for free on their YouTube channel. Families can count down to Christmas with daily readings of Patrick Nielsen and Robyn Wilson-Owen’s The Christmas Nisse, taking a peep at the North Pole and finding out who the real hero of Christmas is in Mother Christmas, as well as joining in the fun with Baby and Puss-Cat’s First Christmas.

The venue’s Artistic Director Samantha Lane said: “We know many families will be missing our on their Christmas theatre trips this year, so we’re delighted to be sharing some brilliant puppetry productions, old and new, to make this festive season feel extra special.”
