To coincide with World Puppetry Day yesterday, Little Angel Theatre have announced their Spring season which will bring a mix of live theatre and a digital programme.

Previously announced show Jina and the STEM Sisters will kick the season off in the Little Angel Studios from 20 April-1 May. The theatre will also welcome back Ian Nicholson and Sam Wilde to the theatre with their adaptation of Jon KIassen’s beloved book I Want My Hat Back and Other Stories, which was a massive hit during lockdown in its digital form. This will run 28 May-31 July.

Alongside these two productions, Kinder; a Smoking Apples production which tells the story of a Czech-Jewish girl escaping on a Kindertransport train and travelling across Europe, and Handa’s Surprise based on the best-selling book written and illustrated by Eileen Browne will both be taking to the studio stage.

Over in the Little Angel Theatre, Pinocchio will play from 29 April-26 June and is an Indefinite Articles production in association with Little Angel Theatre. The classic is lovingly revisited for a new generation of children to enjoy.

Running until 24 April will be The Singing Mermaid, the enormously popular story from Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks is brought to life with beautiful puppetry.

Little Angel Online has also announced a new digital series for April and May titled Little Bell  and Bertie. There will also be a brand-new set of shorts Watch, Make Share which will run for free on Little Angel’s YouTube Channel.
