It has been announced that the hotly anticipated return of Les Miserables - The Staged Concert has extended its run by 2 weeks due to overwhelming demand for tickets.

The concert was originally supposed to run to socially distanced audiences at the Sondheim Theatre from 5 December through 17 January to coincide with musical’s 35th year on Shaftesbury Avenue. It will now run for 2 extra weeks after every seat was sold yesterday in the pre-sale. Lots of people were left disappointed after spending hours in the online queue only to be told that tickets were sold out.

However, Baz Bamigboye announced the extension last night and it is believed that they will go on general sale today at 12pm as previously stated.

This staged concert version of Les Miserables originally ran last year, selling out its entire 16-week season when it played at the Gielgud Theatre. This new run is believed to feature many of the same cast, maintaining its title as all-star. The cast includes Michael Ball as Javert, Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Carrie Hope Fletcher as Fantine and Matt Lucas as Thenardier. John Owen Jones will play the role of Jean Valjean at certain performances. The company, in total, will feature over 50 actors and musicians.

Covid safety measures and social distancing will be in place front of house, in the auditorium, on stage, backstage and throughout the building.
