King’s Head Theatre announce first ever digital season PLAYS ON FILM

Plays on Film

The King’s Head Theatre in Islington has announced its first digital season entitled Plays On Film.

Five smash-hit shows from some of the UK’s most exciting theatre makers will be available to watch on the theatre’s new on demand platform, KHTV from 15 April 2021.

Filmed on location at the venue by Shoot Media and curated by the King’s Head Theatre’s programming team, the programme includes romantic comedy JEW…ish; Vespertilio, an atmospheric tale of love, loneliness, bats and the unlikely connection between two gay men; comedic monologue Sacrament; revue show I Wish My Life Were Like A Musical; and Illusions of Liberty, a searing exploration of invisible illness against the backdrop of a deeply ‘hostile environment.’

A dominant portion of the ticket sales will be passed directly to the artists and companies involved, with the rest being invested back into the pub theatre,

The first three films will be available to watch from 15 April – 5 May, with the other two from 22 April – 12 May.

Tickets go on sale from 12pm noon tomorrow (Weds 17 March) here.
