Ramin Karimloo & Celinde Schoenmaker among stars confirmed for JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in Japan this summer

Ramin Karimloo and Celinde Schoenmaker are among the cast announced for a new concert production of Jesus Christ Superstar, opening at Theatre Orb in Tokyo this summer.

Running from 12-27 July 2021, Mark Stuart will direct Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s rock opera, which will be performed in English with Japanese subtitles, with musical direction by Shigeru Yawata and design by Mirei Iwamoto.

Karimloo will play Judas, Schoenmaker will take on the role of Mary Magdalene, with Michael K Lee as Jesus, Masaaki Fujioka as King Herod, Hironobu Miyahara as Caiaphas, Telly Leung as Peter, Robert Marien as Pontius Pilate, Hayato Kakizawa as Simon Zealotes, and Aaron Walpole as Annas.
