Jason Manford to star in one-man show as part of a worldwide event
Jason Manford will take to the stage at The Lowry this coming Saturday (13 March) in a one-man completely un-rehearsed show, as part of a global event marking the anniversary of lockdown.
Manford will be performing “White Rabbit, Red Rabbit”, a show by Aurora Nova and Nassim Soleimanpour and one of the most widely performed plays in the world.
Manford will be handed a script live on-stage and will immediately perform the text live on zoom to an audience watching at home. Performances will take place at 8pm in every time zone in the world, which will create a wave of performances to remember the anniversary of when theatres fell silent. Every actor taking part will take to the stage with a text that they haven’t seen before in front of a live audience.
Tickets for the performance are £10 per household and the proceeds will be donated to The Lowry’s Emergency Appeal, set up in March 2020 to help to support the Salford Charity through the pandemic. The Lowry remains closed in line with government guidelines but is hoping to reopen from 17 May.
