INTO THE WOODS to transfer to Broadway

It has been announced that the New York City Center Encores! production of Into the Woods will transfer to Broadway this summer.

The show will transfer to the St. James Theatre from 28 June, and will have a limited eight-week run.

The Broadway cast will feature Brian d'Arcy James as the Baker, Patina Miller as the Witch, Phillipa Soo as Cinderella, and Joshua Henry as Rapunzel's prince. 

The production will also feature returning cast members from the Encores! production including Sara Bareilles as the Baker's Wife, Gavin Creel as the Wolf, Ta'Nika Gibson as Lucinda, Annie Golden as Cinderella's Mother/Grandmother/Giant's Wife, Albert Guerzon as Cinderella's Father, Brooke Ishibashi as Florinda, Kennedy Kanagawa as Milky White, David Patrick Kelly as the Narrator/Mysterious Man, Julia Lester as Little Red Riding Hood, Cole Thompson as Jack, David Turner as the Steward, and understudies Jason Forbach, Mary Kate Moore, and Cameron Johnson.

The production is directed by Lear deBessonet, with musical direction by Rob Berman, choreography by Lorin Latarro, set design by David Rockwell, costumes by Andrea Hood, lighting by Tyler Micoleau, sound by Scott Lehrer & Alex Neumann, and puppet design by James Ortiz.

Additional casting is to be announced.

The production will be dedicated to the memory of Stephen Sondheim.
