It has been announced today that Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre will be launching a community hub and Theatre School, in a new space based right next to their existing venue.

This will include a large studio space for gatherings, dance classes, and rehearsals, which will double as a performance space at certain points to host new work. There will also be a smaller space that can be used for auditions and singing lessons.

The school will launch in June 2021 with its first summer term. Due to the ongoing restrictions, the theatre school will launch at half capacity initially and will operate in this manner until it is safe to open fully. It hopes to provide training for young people aged 7-18 as well as early years classes. 

Next month, Hope Mill Theatre will launch ‘Clever Clogs’, which are online sessions for 2-4 year olds with their parents. Sessions will focus on songs, storytelling and movements, and will take place weekly in term time starting on 8 March.  There will also be a play reading club for teens aged 13-18 launching on 28 March.
