Hollyoaks’ Gary Lucy to star as Abanazer in ALADDIN at Sunderland Empire

Sunderland Empire have announced that Hollyoaks’ Gary Lucy will star as villainous panto baddie Abanazer in Aladdin this festive season from 9 December 2022 – 2 January 2023.

Known best for playing Luke Morgan in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, Danny Pennant in Eastenders and PC Will Fletcher in The Bill, Gary Lucy is no stranger to soap opera drama. Other notable credits include Footballers' Wives, Casualty and The Dumping Ground.

Gary Lucy will join the previously announced North East Queen of Comedy, Miss Rory, back for a third year running as the glamorous and razor sharp witty Widow Twankey. Joined by South Shields comic Tom Whalley, back by popular demand, you can be sure you’re in for a fall off your seat fun time.
