The Mediterranean, early 1920s: glamorous Rosalba escapes Spanish ‘flu, wreaking havoc with her female admirers on the island of Sirene. Extraordinary Women explores themes of companionship, love, queerness and strong, free women.

Extraordinary Women is a new musical based on Compton Mackenzie’s novel, featuring music by Sarah Travis and a book and lyrics by Richard Stirling.

The piece is directed and choreographed by Tom Jackson Greaves, with musical direction by Peter Roberts.
