Josh Groban & Annaleigh Ashford to play final performances in SWEENEY TODD on 14 January 2024

It has been announced that Tony and Grammy-nominated multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford will play their final performances in the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on 14 January 2024, concluding their 46-week run headlining the acclaimed production.

Groban received a 2023 Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance as Sweeney Todd, and Ashford received a 2023 Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Musical as well as the 2023 Drama League Distinguished Performance Award and 2023 Drama Desk Award for her performance as Mrs. Lovett.

The production is currently on-sale until 14 January 2024 but will extend its run into the spring of 2024. New casting for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street as well as extension dates and ticket on-sale information will be announced shortly.

Sweeney Todd will launch a national tour in late winter/early spring of 2025. The tour will span both the 2024/25 and 2025/26 theatrical seasons and will bring Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award®–winning score and Jonathan Tunick’s original orchestrations to cities across the US. Casting, dates and cities for the national tour will be announced at a later date.
