SIMBA Pancakes
Inspired by The Lion King
You’ll need:
Caramel ice cream
LION bar or similar chocolate bar
Toffee sauce
Has there ever been a better use for a LION bar? Chop one into small pieces and sprinkle it on top of a scoop of caramel ice cream, then drizzle with toffee sauce, and you’ll have a dessert that you just can’t wait to eat!
AUDREY II Pancakes
Inspired by Little Shop of Horrors
You’ll need:
Baby leaf spinach
Cherry tomatoes
Olive oil
Minced garlic
Not got a sweet tooth? Try this savoury option instead, inspired by everyone’s favourite man-eating plant! You’ll need to roast the tomatoes in an ovenproof dish with a drizzle of olive oil for around 15 minutes at 180 degrees C. After 10 minutes, add a little oil and minced garlic to a frying pan, fry for thirty seconds, then add the spinach and fry for another 2-3 minutes. Cover the pancakes in a bed of spinach and top with charred tomatoes for a mean, green pancake.
CHERRY PIE Pancakes
Inspired by Waitress
You’ll need:
Cherry pie filling
Whipping cream
Vanilla essence
Icing sugar
Jenna’s speciality might be pies but we bet she makes awesome pancakes too! You can make your own cherry pie filling or buy it in a tin. Then just whip some double cream with a drop of vanilla essence and a sprinkling of icing sugar, until it forms peaks, and add a dollop of it on top of the cherries.
EVERYONE LOVES BREAKFAST Pancakes
Inspired by Something Rotten!
You’ll need:
An egg
Streaky or back bacon
Oil for frying
Maple syrup
Something Rotten!, the Broadway smash that’s hopefully hitting the UK soon, features a playwright who decides to create the world’s first musical - all about breakfast foods. It even has tap-dancing eggs! Lean into this vibe by creating the ultimate breakfast-themed pancake. Fry an egg and a couple of rashers of bacon, add to the pancake stack, then pour a little maple syrup over the bacon. Amazing at any time of day!
SNOW QUEEN Pancakes
Inspired by Frozen
You’ll need:
Blue bubblegum ice cream
Silver balls or white snowflake sprinkles
White mini marshmallows
These super-sweet pancakes are a treat worthy of any princess! Add a scoop of bubblegum ice cream, then scatter the marshmallows and sprinkles over the top, and try to wait until you’ve finished eating before you start singing ‘Let It Go’!
