Further details released on Episodes 6 & 7 of the Royal Court’s THE LIVING NEWSPAPER

The Royal Court Theatre has announced the cast for Episode 6 of The Living Newspaper and has confirmed the final instalment of the series, Episode 7: The Last Word.

Edition 6 explores the strange and contradictory relationship between a closed theatre building and the world outside; asking questions about why we gather together and who we might have lost when we do so again.

It will take audiences on a journey from the familiarity of an old English pub, down the streets of Belarus, into the heady territory of global financial markets, stop briefly on a quiet park bench before bringing them back into the heart of the Royal Court itself.

The cast featured in Edition 6 is Marion Bailey, Cian Binchy, Amanda Coogan, Tim Crouch, Louisa Harland, Lara Grace Ilori, Rose Lewenstein, Maimuna Memon, Rachael Merry, Nando Messias, Sule Rimi, Grace Savage, Dorcas Sebuyange, Michelle Tiwo, Alan Williams, Millicent Wong and Basil the Dog.

It is written by Pamela Carter, Hester Chillingworth, Tim Crouch, Molly Davies, Amy Bethan Evans, Robert Alan Evans, Stacey Gregg, Rose Lewenstein, Simon Longman, Rory Mullarkey, Lettie Precious, Pavel Pryazhko, Testament, Joe Ward Munrow, Kit Withington and Rachael Young.

The previously announced piece by Stacey Gregg, performed by Amanda Coogan and Rachael Merry, has been moved from Edition 4 to Edition 6.

Edition 6 starts Monday 19 April 2021 and runs until Sunday 2 May 2021. To book tickets, please click here.

Written by a group of 14-21 year old writers, Episode 7: The Last Word explores the fear and anticipation of 21 June, a world where the stars talk in Morse code, the difference between people online and IRL, the effects of class on love, and what it means to say goodbye to those friends you only have for the summer.

What does it mean to count your life in years and lose one? What happens when you reemerge into the ‘real’ world and find there are still fights to be won? This is the time to listen to writers who haven’t been heard before.

The writers whose work is featured in Edition 7 are Blessing Adetunji, Fatima Kazmi, Tyreke Leslie, Naomi Lundie-Smith, Sam Pickering, Taichi Shinokubo and Ruby Stokes.

It starts on Monday 26 April 2021, with the Front Page live streamed at 5.30pm. The episode will then be available to watch for two weeks until Sunday 9 May 2021. To book tickets, please click here.
